Trialing Too Good To Go Delivery Boxes

If you have used the Too Good To Go app, you might have seen the delivery option. You might have wondered how it works, if it's worth it and whether you should give it a go considering this option is often a lot more expensive than local pick ups.

I gave the delivery a go, and ordered a 'pantry parcel', as we were heading off camping and the packaged foods like dhal sachets and ramen packets would be handy. It also came with some ketchups and sauces.

It was all well packaged inside, with smart packaging, although the box itself had been bashed around a bit. It arrived pretty quickly, only a few days after I ordered it.

Some of the contents were slightly different to what had been advertised, or perhaps what I had expected. Otherwise I was fairly impressed with the contents, all of which I did know before I ordered, not like similar boxes whereby you simply order a mystery selection at discount. Much of the products were at their best before, which is stated on the listing pre purchase and this is something that really doesn't bother me as we always smell before eating and were planning to use most of the contents straight away. Additionally, many of the products will stretch safely long beyond the BB. Again, knowing what you are ordering means it's silly to complain about the contents. But personally, we have not used two huge containers of miso, although I do love it. This is to say, having odd quantities of things, can make it hard to actually use it up, and many of the products are novel/ highly processed.

Overall, I probably wouldn't order from the delivery part of Too Good To Go again. It's too risky and not a particularly cheap way of ordering food. If I had used 100% of the contents of the box, it makes each item cost effective. But with parts of the boxes potentially being wasted, it moots why I might order. Would I recommend ordering? If you check the contents fully on the app and are absolutely certain you'd use every part of the box, you might find it cheap/ convienient. Otherwise I will stick to the occassional order from the pick up part of Too Good To Go.
