Reviewing gruum. gentle moisturiser

Some context about my skin, that’s important before the review. I tend to prefer oils in the winter and a lighter cream in the summer, as my skin tends to suit the warmth more (even if the rest of me is absolutely a winter baby). I have sensitive skin with patches that are drier, I usually steer clear of products heavily scented as they can make my eyes run. I obviously also prioritise plastic free when possible, vegan and as clean as possible.

The gruum, gentle moisturiser does tick some of those boxes. It is vegan, cruelty free, 96% naturally derived and is has a formulation suited to sensitive skin. However, is it not plastic free, coming in a little plastic tub. It is also fairly cost effective. I really wanted to love this moisturiser. I do struggle with finding skincare I love and that also loves and nourishes my skin. Firstly, this moisturiser is not a winter cream for me. It has a lightweight formula that doesn't give my skin what it needs in terms of depth of moisture during the colder months. So I gave it a go during the summer, chucking it into a backpack for a trip, a time when the lightweight plastic packaging is useful. It does seem to work better for me as a lighter formula, when I need less of a moisture punch. However, it doesn't feel like a deeply moisturising cream and does hang around on the surface leaving a bit of a milky/ matte feel. This is not what I like in a moisturiser, tending to prefer fresher, dewier feeling oils and gels. This product would probably be fantastic for oily skin types, that prefer that matt, light product. It does seem to be great for sensitive skin and I do love that it is fragrance free. It's just not for my skin type, although I would certainly try other products by gruum, such as their facial oils and solid cleanser bars.
